What it is
Volt uses the same cell geometry as Dark Matter at roughly half the pitch. The finer walls give you most of the traction with none of the sharp edges people notice on Dark Matter in the first week — and the lime reads clearly on a streaming camera.

Fitting
- Wipe the handles clean and let them dry — skin oil is why grips work loose.
- Hook the lower lip over the base of the handle first.
- Roll the shell upward with your thumbs, keeping the edge seated.
- Check the USB-C port, both triggers and the headphone jack are clear.
Compatibility
Moulded per controller, not a universal sleeve. Choosing the wrong mould means it will not seat — our 60-day return window covers that mistake.

The right amount of texture for long sessions
I tried Dark Matter first and it was too much for me — after five or six hours the cell edges left marks on my fingers. Volt has most of the grip with none of that. The finer cells are genuinely crisp, it looks moulded rather than printed.

Great, but check the design before you order
Grip is exactly what I wanted. My one gripe is that Carbon is much flatter black in person than in the photos — in the images you can see the twill weave clearly, in normal room light it is basically solid black. Not a fault, just set your expectations. Still a 4 because the grip itself is excellent.

Pattern lines up across both grips
Small thing that I did not expect: the lattice actually mirrors properly, so the left and right grips are symmetric rather than two random crops of the same texture. It is the kind of detail that makes it feel like a designed product.

How much bigger will my controller feel?
+1.8 mm per handle on each handle, and 15 g per pair in total. If you have small hands or thousands of hours of muscle memory on a bare controller, start with Matte Essential at +0.9 mm.
Will it come off and leave marks on my controller?
No. There is no adhesive anywhere in the product — it is a friction fit, held by the shape of the mould. You can remove and refit it as often as you like. If a grip does work loose, it is almost always skin oil on the controller rather than a fault: clean both surfaces with warm water and washing-up liquid, dry completely, and refit.
Does it block the USB-C port, triggers or the headphone jack?
No. Each shell is cut around the port, the triggers, the headphone jack and — on the DualSense Edge and Elite Series 2 — the rear module, so you can still swap stick modules and paddles with the grips fitted.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
The UV-coated TPU shells are dishwasher safe on a normal cycle, top rack. Silicone thumb grips and rings are as well. Warm water and washing-up liquid with a brush is faster and does the same job.
