What it is
Ember runs the same 2.4 mm open-cell depth as Dark Matter on a coarser, more angular cell — fewer walls, wider channels, and the colour inverted so the webbing between the cells is what you see. Identical grip performance, a very different object.

Fitting
- Wipe the handles clean and let them dry — skin oil is why grips work loose.
- Hook the lower lip over the base of the handle first.
- Roll the shell upward with your thumbs, keeping the edge seated.
- Check the USB-C port, both triggers and the headphone jack are clear.
Compatibility
Moulded per controller, not a universal sleeve. Choosing the wrong mould means it will not seat — our 60-day return window covers that mistake.

Same grip as Dark Matter, completely different object
I own both. Physically they perform identically — same 2.4 mm depth, same drainage, same break-in. Ember just has wider channels and the colour inverted so the web is what you see. If you wanted Dark Matter's performance without violet cells all over your controller, this is it.

Great grip, the orange is louder than I expected
No complaints about the fit or the texture at all. The gradient through the palm is much more saturated in person than on the product page — if you are after something subtle this is not it. Docking a star for that rather than for anything being wrong.

How much bigger will my controller feel?
+2.4 mm per handle on each handle, and 18 g per pair in total. If you have small hands or thousands of hours of muscle memory on a bare controller, start with Matte Essential at +0.9 mm.
Will it come off and leave marks on my controller?
No. There is no adhesive anywhere in the product — it is a friction fit, held by the shape of the mould. You can remove and refit it as often as you like. If a grip does work loose, it is almost always skin oil on the controller rather than a fault: clean both surfaces with warm water and washing-up liquid, dry completely, and refit.
Does it block the USB-C port, triggers or the headphone jack?
No. Each shell is cut around the port, the triggers, the headphone jack and — on the DualSense Edge and Elite Series 2 — the rear module, so you can still swap stick modules and paddles with the grips fitted.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
The UV-coated TPU shells are dishwasher safe on a normal cycle, top rack. Silicone thumb grips and rings are as well. Warm water and washing-up liquid with a brush is faster and does the same job.
The cells feel sharp — is that normal?
Yes, for about a week. Freshly moulded cell walls have a crisp edge that rounds off with use. If it is still uncomfortable after a fortnight, the texture is genuinely too aggressive for you — Vector's micro-hex is the one to switch to, and our 60-day window covers the swap.
