Fitting
- Wipe the handles clean and let them dry — skin oil is why grips work loose.
- Hook the lower lip over the base of the handle first.
- Roll the shell upward with your thumbs, keeping the edge seated.
- Check the USB-C port, both triggers and the headphone jack are clear.
Compatibility

The only grip I could not feel a difference in weight from
I have thousands of hours on a bare DualSense and every grip I tried before this one threw my aim off for a week. Vapor is 1.4 mm and honestly after twenty minutes I stopped noticing it was there — except that my hand no longer slides. The node points do most of the work.

Not enough grip if your hands actually sweat
Beautifully made and the profile is genuinely tiny. But I bought it hoping it would fix slipping and it does not — once my palms are damp the raised mesh has nothing to drain into and it goes slick like the bare shell. My fault for not reading the grip rating, but worth flagging.

Vapor is rated 4/5 for grip but it is a dry-hand texture — only the open-cell moulds (Dark Matter and Ember) have channels deep enough to move moisture. We have raised a discount for the difference to Dark Matter; no need to send Vapor back either way.

The mesh actually mirrors across both grips
Small thing I did not expect: the mesh is symmetric left to right rather than two random crops of the same texture. It is the kind of detail that makes it feel designed rather than printed. Blue to violet gradient is subtler in person than in the photos, which I prefer.

How much bigger will my controller feel?
+1.4 mm per handle on each handle, and 12 g per pair in total. If you have small hands or thousands of hours of muscle memory on a bare controller, start with Matte Essential at +0.9 mm.
Will it come off and leave marks on my controller?
No. There is no adhesive anywhere in the product — it is a friction fit, held by the shape of the mould. You can remove and refit it as often as you like. If a grip does work loose, it is almost always skin oil on the controller rather than a fault: clean both surfaces with warm water and washing-up liquid, dry completely, and refit.
Does it block the USB-C port, triggers or the headphone jack?
No. Each shell is cut around the port, the triggers, the headphone jack and — on the DualSense Edge and Elite Series 2 — the rear module, so you can still swap stick modules and paddles with the grips fitted.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
The UV-coated TPU shells are dishwasher safe on a normal cycle, top rack. Silicone thumb grips and rings are as well. Warm water and washing-up liquid with a brush is faster and does the same job.
